Maroon and burgundy are huge colors for fall again. I’m loving the navy/maroon combos I have been seeing all over the place, and that makes me excited to wear my navy blazer with a good pair of cropped maroon pants. Now, I know what you’re thinking…“Cropped pants? Why do they need to be in a Tall size?” Here’s why–I tried a pair of cropped regular pants on, and they hit me at the widest part of the calf, resembling a capri. This will not only make your legs look wider, but will make you appear shorter. Long and lean is always better! Even Tim Gunn advises women to avoid the capri-pant look. So, to sum up, go for the tall-sized cropped pant, and make sure the pant hits around the ankle. Don’t worry, it won’t look like you’re wearing high-waters (elementary school flashback…shudder)!
This is the Minnie Pant in Stretch Twill from J.Crew. If you don’t have a pair of these pants, go ahead and click “ADD TO BAG” because you won’t regret it. I have a pair in every color–with pinot noir on the way–(don’t judge) and don’t regret it one bit! They really do “look good on everyone” as claimed!
Here is another option from Gap.com.
Bananarepublic.com has a pair as well.
Loft.com has these ankle pants which are probably my second favorite, behind the J.Crew ones!
These will look great with a cute pair or ballet flats or…heels, of course!
Happy Wednesday, y’all!
